Drawing Style

I have drawn since I was able to hold a pencil. So I know how to draw pretty well, that is not the problem, the problem lies in finding my drawing style. Well I guess it is not a problem, but more a stumbling block for me, In the end finding your drawing style is something that developes with time, and experience, or so I have been told. I may not have found my style yet, but I know which heading to take. That style is showcased brilliantly in both Borderlands, and Darksiders. Here are some examples.

What is your advice on finding ones drawing style?

  1. I’ve always avoided getting set in a ‘style’, but I’d do better to quote a greater artist, Richard Williams, who wrote in his seminal animation bible ‘The Animator’s Survival Kit’:
“Don’t try to develop a style. Ignore Style. Just concentrate on the drawing and style will occur.”
It seems you’re well on your way 🙂

    1. So, I guess my best bet is to just go with the flow, and see what happens.
